Periodontology (Gingivitis/Periodontitis)
The conditions of the soft and hard tissue surrounding the teeth and implants can often be treated successfully, if we act in time.
The main treatment for periodontitis is to thoroughly remove the plaque and tartar above and below the gum line, and to follow proper oral hygiene. In some cases, the hard-to-reach areas of the gums are disinfected with diode laser, to achieve better and faster results. Antibiotic and antiseptic mouthwashes are also recommended.
In cases when the loss of supporting bone has led to tooth mobility or the loss of a front tooth, instead of resorting to a conventional bridge, we can join the teeth, encasing them in a fibre reinforced composite resin system, to reduce the cost and avoid having to grind the teeth. This way we can correct the problem in just one visit, with quite predictable outcomes.
